Rangers Win Seventh Straight At MSG
Not only are the Rangers streaking on home ice, they are picking off some powerhouses in the process.
That trend continued Tuesday night when New York used a four-goal second period to grab control against Pittsburgh and held on for a 4-3 victory over the Penguins, the Rangers' seventh straight win at Madison Square Garden.
Penguins Improve To 3-0-1 Since Crosby's Return
The Penguins topped the Canadiens 4-3 on Saturday night, allowing them to improve to 3-0-1 since Sidney Crosby returned to the ice.
Pittsburgh's Kris Letang came back with a bloodied and broken nose from a hit late in regulation to score 2:09 into overtime.
"It shows a lot of guts and we're all happy that, first of all, he's OK, and for him to respond like that it's pretty amazing," Crosby said.
Islanders Top Devils For First Road Win
Michael Grabner snapped a tie with a short-handed goal as the Islanders beat the Devils 3-2 on Saturday in New Jersey for their first road win of the season.
"Our guys battled. They battled the last nine periods," Islanders coach Jack Capuano said. "We did get some breaks tonight. It takes a few breaks to win a game. I'm just glad they got the two points."
Matt Moulson and Josh Bailey also scored for New York, which earned its third victory this month and improved to 1-5-2 on the road.
Penguins Score Four Goals In First 10 Minutes
Chris Kunitz, Tyler Kennedy, Steve Sullivan and Evgeni Malkin all scored for the Penguins within a 7:25 span to turn a one-goal deficit into a 4-1 lead.
Pittsburgh chased Ottawa starting goaltender Craig Anderson before the first period was halfway gone.
Sidney Crosby assisted on three of the goals -- including a beautiful cross-ice feed to Kunitz following a shot fake -- as the Penguins bounced back from a loss to St. Louis on Wednesday in style.
"I think we wanted to start better than we did last game," Crosby said.
"It was just a matter of doing that. They scored early but we knew there was a lot of time left and we could get back into the game. Everyone responded well, and that carried over for the next two periods."
Datsyuk Helps Wings End Bruins' Streak
The Red Wings and Bruins didn't disappoint on Friday night, going toe-to-toe before Detroit's offensive skill spelled an end to the Bruins' 10-game winning streak.
Pavel Datsyuk and Todd Bertuzzi scored in the shootout to lift the Red Wings to a 3-2 win over Boston.
Blues Hold Crosby Scoreless, Beat Pens In OT

Stifling Crosby at nearly every turn in his second game back from concussion-like symptoms, the Blues dominated the Penguins for two periods before escaping with a 3-2 OT win.
Bruins Win 10th Straight
The Bruins picked up yet another win on Wednesday night.
Benoit Pouliot scored the deciding goal in the fifth round of the shootout, and the Bruins rallied from two different two-goal deficits for their 10th straight win, a 4-3 victory over the Sabres.

Bruins Remain Hot, Win Seventh Straight
The Bruins' season-high winning streak came dangerously close to ending against the team with the worst record in the NHL.
Boston needed a stellar game from goalie Tuukka Rask to hold off the Blue Jackets for a 2-1 shootout victory on Thursday night that extended the team's winning streak to seven.
Rask made 30 saves, including four in overtime, and then came through in the shootout when he stoned Antoine Vermette on Columbus' final attempt.
